I love being a virtual assistant, but I realize that there’s a lot of people out there that don’t understand what a virtual assistant (VA) is or what they do. I would love to explain it for you and clear up any questions about how a VA can be beneficial to your business.

But first, let me introduce myself. My name is Megan Wallace and I am the owner of BizBoss Virtual Assistant. I am a dog mom to a lab mix named Flume and she is one of the main reasons I began my VA business but I’ll get into that later. I was raised in New Hampshire and in August of 2019 I moved to North Dakota with my older brother as he was starting his Commercial Pilot education.

Enough about me, let’s talk about Virtual Assistance! I started my business in July of 2021 for a couple of reasons. The main reasons being that I love to help people, and I had just gotten my dog, Flume! Since Flume was just a puppy, she needed around the clock attention it seemed. I hated that I had to leave my precious Flumie for 8+ hours a day to go work at a corporate job. So I got to thinking, what can I do that will allow me to work from home, have flexible hours, and not have to work for corporate? The answer was Virtual Assistance!

What is a Virtual assistant?

A Virtual Assistant is a contractor that works remotely to help business owners with a variety of services. There are many different types of VA’s including technical, general admin, design, the list could go on. As for me, I consider myself a General Administrative Virtual Assistant. This title gives me the opportunity to offer a variety of services to different types of business owners and entrepreneurs. The purpose of a VA is to relieve the stress of the business owner by taking tasks off their plate that they either don’t have the time to do, don’t have the energy to do, or simply just don’t want to do.

Here are some examples of the services that I offer:

  • General Admin – Email and Calendar Management
  • Social Media Management – Responding to comments, scheduling posts
  • Website Design – Creating and designing websites
  • Blog Updates – Adding links, updating images
  • Lead Nurturing – Keeping track of new leads and keeping up with messages
  • Email Marketing – Setting up Email Service providers and sequences to help build an email list
  • Content Creation – Creating social media posts that create engagement
  • WordPress Updates – Fixing error messages and broken links or images
  • Graphic Design – Creating images and graphics to share with an audience
  • Publishing – Publishing manuscripts on KDP

There you have it, a quick rundown on what a virtual assistant is and what they do. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to me personally and I’ll be happy to help!
